THE MINERAL CHRONICLES
PREHNITE MATRIX
BENNU FINE ART
THE STANCE
Prehnite Matrix is a nine work audiovisual installation of mineral memory, internal fracture, meditative stillness, and an original isiXhosa led score.
Pale green prehnite, black tourmaline needles, moss like inclusions, serpentine, antique gold, and charcoal stone gather here as one protected material world.
Nothing is made smooth for the sake of perfection.
The crystal keeps its fault lines visible.
The inclusions remain inside the light.
What was fractured is not erased.
It is given form.
THE GREATER ARCHIVE
Prehnite Matrix is one chapter within The Mineral Chronicles: a growing archive of distinct mineral worlds.
Each chapter follows its own stone, color temperature, internal geometry, and emotional atmosphere.
The heart mechanism returns as a recurring symbol not as repetition, but as a different relic rebuilt from each material body.
Every archive stands alone.
Together, they form a larger geology of memory, pressure, repair, and light.
THE SOVEREIGN VAULT
Within a vault of charcoal stone and mineral night, a dynasty survives through restoration.
The walls are built from pale translucent prehnite, dark obsidian, weathered scroll fragments, and antique gold seams pressed into old fractures.
Soft green gold light collects beneath the crystal surfaces.
Black tourmaline threads pass through the sovereign forms like roots beneath stone.
At the center of the vault rest the Sacred Prehnite Hearts: polished mineral bodies held within aged gold mechanisms of rail, hinge, and repair.
This is not a lost empire.
It is an empire that endured.
THE MATERIAL CODE
Translucent mint green prehnite.
Dark tourmaline needles and dendritic inclusions.
Blackened charcoal obsidian.
Dense green serpentine.
Glass like mineral refraction.
Antique gold repair seams and filigree.
Soft green gold halos.
Heart geometry, structural rails, and relic mechanisms.
THE PREHNITE POUR
LIQUID MINERAL STUDY
A 490 megapixel portrait fine art study created for The Mineral Chronicles: Prehnite Matrix.
A weathered mineral vessel releases a slow stream of translucent prehnite into a carved basin of charcoal stone.
Pale green crystal depth, black tourmaline needles, moss like inclusions, and thin antique gold repair seams move through the pour as one living material body.
It is not water.
It is prehnite held in motion.
A study of pressure, fracture, containment, and return.
THE NINE RELICS
I. THE PREHNITE SOVEREIGN
SOVEREIGN STUDY I
A meditating ruler beneath a soft green gold halo.
His serpentine robes rise from dark stone as both hands hold a massive prehnite heart.
He does not ask to be remembered.
The crystal remembers for him.
II. THE PREHNITE SOVEREIGN
SOVEREIGN STUDY II
A second sovereign in elevated vertical framing.
Mineral fractures, antique gold collar work, and a quiet crown matrix rise into controlled darkness.
Two rulers.
One horizon.
One restored kingdom.
III. PREHNITE HEART PART I
HEART SLIDE COMPONENT
A monumental polished prehnite heart held inside a framework of aged gold rails and gears.
The mechanism moves with deliberate weight, revealing the dark inclusion network held within the stone.
IV. PREHNITE HEART PART II
HEART SLIDE COMPONENT
A close study of the heart’s interior structure.
Raised gold seams bind a split crystal face to its mechanical core while fine gold particles drift through the surrounding dark.
V. THE SACRED MATRIX COLLAGE
UNIFIED INSTALLATION
Sovereigns, heart mechanisms, polished stones, and specimen displays gather inside one layered mineral window.
A slow passage across the composition reveals a complete archive in fragments.
VI. THE MACRO MINERAL MATRIX
ABSTRACT TEXTURE INSTALLATION
The figure recedes and the stone takes over.
Prehnite surfaces expand into a monumental field of green translucence, dark dendritic roots, and deep mineral pressure.
VII. THE TRANSLUCENT PREHNITE SLAB
MACRO STUDY
A pale green prehnite slab filled with black tourmaline needles and internal depth.
Light moves quietly beneath the surface, changing the stone without disturbing it.
VIII. SOLID MINT GREEN MATTER
PURE MINERAL GROUND
A minimalist field of polished mint green mineral matter, subtle glass like fractures, and deep interior light.
Dark mineral mist rests at the lower edge like shadow settling on a gallery floor.
IX. DEEP BLACK TOURMALINE NEEDLE COMPLEX
PURE ORGANIC INCLUSIONS
A dense network of black tourmaline and moss like mineral growth moving through a deep void.
The image remains still while light slowly gathers and recedes across its sharp organic lines.
THE CINEMATIC PRESENCE
These works come alive with restraint.
Halos breathe.
Gold catches light along repaired seams.
The heart mechanisms turn slowly.
Mist settles.
Crystal depths reveal themselves over time.
There is no fast spectacle.
Only the quiet proof that the archive is alive.
MINERAL HEART
ORIGINAL SOUNDWORK FOR PREHNITE MATRIX
Mineral Heart is the companion vocal soundwork created for The Mineral Chronicles: Prehnite Matrix.
The score is built around an intimate isiXhosa lead voice, human call and response, layered choir, deep earth drones, and resonant musical bow textures.
The music does not imitate ceremony.
It carries a contemporary voice of stone, fracture, memory, return, and repair into a new audiovisual space.
A slow 74 BPM pulse holds the installation together: musical bow resonance, mouth bow harmonics, low gourd texture, restrained handclaps, dark 808 pressure, muted midnight boom bap drums, crystal chimes, and a choir that enters like breath inside a mineral vault.
The voice is close.
The stone is older.
They speak to each other.
THE VOCAL LANGUAGE
The lyrics are performed in isiXhosa, a living language of South Africa.
They follow the emotional path of the Prehnite Matrix.
The fracture remains visible.
Gold holds what was broken.
The heart survives inside the stone.
The voice returns home.
The refrain answers itself in call and response:
“I remain in the stone.”
“My heart does not break.”
“Gold moves through the fractures.”
“I return home.”
THE SOUND ARCHITECTURE
The opening begins with breath, crystal chimes, and low musical bow resonance.
The vocal enters without force.
The boom bap rhythm arrives slowly beneath the voice, giving the mineral world a present day pulse without taking its stillness away.
At the center of the work, drums disappear.
Only deep bass, bowed harmonics, choir, and breath remain.
The final passage returns to the heart: voice, stone, gold, and a single fading crystal chime.
No spectacle.
No borrowed ritual.
A contemporary soundwork made to live beside the archive.
THE HEARTBEARER
The Heartbearer is the silent guardian of the Prehnite Matrix.
He holds the Sacred Prehnite Heart at his chest as a vessel of memory, pressure, repair, and return.
His closed eyes do not signal absence.
They signal listening.
He listens to the black mineral threads inside the green crystal, to the fractures held by gold, and to the voice that returns from the stone.
He does not rule through force.
He preserves what endured.
THE EARTH RECORD
Prehnite Matrix is inspired by prehnite’s South African mineral history.
Prehnite was named in the late eighteenth century after Hendrik von Prehn, and reports place its original find near Cradock in the Karoo region of South Africa.
The isiXhosa vocal element is used as a living language contribution to an original contemporary soundwork.
The lyrics, music, characters, and mythology in this installation are original to Bennu Fine Art.
